Wow!

February 8, 2009

I can’t believe how flat my stomach is today… it’s pretty darn incredible! It’s flatter than it was when I weighed 11 pounds less than I do now, even!
I’m in the process of working on some new pages for this website, which should go live possibly tonight sometime.
Here’s my meal plan for the day:

Breakfast: [...]

Later Update

February 4, 2009

^^^My lunch today. (Eating as I type this, in fact). Blackberry phones take terrible photos for some reason. It’s SableFish (black cod), cooked spinach, and a salad made with: romaine lettuce & herbs, colored bell peppers and tomatoes. I have come to absolutely LOVE the herb romaine lettuce mix. The [...]

Friday Update

January 30, 2009

TGIF!!
My lunch:

That’s plain yogurt with a sprinkling of cinnamon, which is supposed to be good for the blood sugar. There is also a romaine herb lettuce salad with tri-colored bell peppers, carrots, and sesame seeds. There’s a small piece of sharp cheddar thrown in for good measure.
I am feeling fabulous today!!! Despite [...]

Later Update

January 29, 2009

Now I see why people who eat salmon are so thin… it’s SO filling and so full of vitamins. It seems like anything with higher amounts of Omega 3 are very filling… such as fish and omega-3 eggs. I just had some wild white king salmon with some spinach and a small romaine [...]

Wednesday Morning Update

January 28, 2009

So, I learned that I don’t much care for Sockeye (red) salmon… too many tiny bones. Too bad, since it’s one of the most vitamin-rich salmon out there. However, I love the white King salmon. I will be having a fillet today, in fact, late this afternoon for a late lunch.
So I’ve [...]

Monday Update

January 26, 2009

Well, we are in the middle of yet another bad ice storm, and I think I’m going to be stuck at home for the next couple of days! I’m supposed to go somewhere later tonight with a friend, but I don’t trust anyone’s driving on the pure ice that is now coating the roads [...]

I Can't Help But Rave…

January 25, 2009

… about these things:

My taste buds have woken up in a way I can’t even explain. Fresh, natural foods have never, EVER tasted so good! Even mineral water has a most delicious, subtle flavor to it which I could never taste before. Fresh raw veggies are as delicious now as chocolate once [...]

Wednesday Update

January 21, 2009

Great news… the scale moved down 2.5 pounds this morning! And the low-carb appetite suppression has also kicked in. I could barely finish my breakfast this morning.
It seems I have unintentionally (sort of) moved into a “eat carbs only in the morning” plan. I’ve been doing this for the past couple of [...]

And Research Continues…

January 18, 2009

There is no stopping me once I get interested in a subject. Currently, I’m absorbing everything I can about nutrition.
From now on, I will be eating wild caught Alaskan salmon twice a week… shrimp every now and then, and spinach every day. I will not touch any other fish except maybe once in [...]

My Lunch & An Update

January 16, 2009

This is what I ate for lunch (pictured above): delicious whole wheat fettuccine (with flax seed and omega 3), organic four-cheese sauce, a dash or two of Parmesan cheese, a veggie salad and some Pellegrino. The total calories comes out to around 300. The only veggies in this salad are romaine lettuce, carrots, [...]

Furthermore…

January 14, 2009

I had a delicious and super-healthy dinner tonight: half of a plain grilled chicken breast (finally wised up to how many calories really ARE in a chicken breast, so now I only eat half at a time), a peach, and a good-sized salad including romaine lettuce, red, yellow and orange peppers, cucumber and carrots with [...]

Calorie Update & Going 95% Organic

January 13, 2009

Yesterday I clocked in 1395 calories for the day… not bad!
I’m not sure if I mentioned this previously, but in addition to calorie-counting, I’m trying very hard to eat mostly organic or whole foods. Yesterday I went through my cabinets and got rid of everything that had a long list of chemicals in the [...]

Thursday Update

January 8, 2009

So, yesterday I ended the day with a total of 1435 calories! Not bad at all… I did change the last meal around a bit and didn’t have the sunflower seeds before going to bed, which explains the slight difference in calories.
So I have today’s meal plan all set up…
Breakfast: Shredded wheat w/skim milk [...]

Today's Menu & I'm Counting Calories Again!

January 7, 2009

So, my “I don’t care about dieting” phase didn’t last very long… Now I’m more determined than ever to lose the rest of this darn weight! However, it’s more for health reasons than anything else.
Since yesterday I have been writing down absolutely everything I eat and am doing four 350-calorie meals per day, [...]

My New Plan

December 26, 2008

Ok so I finally got on the scale this morning and it wasn’t pretty… I am back up a couple of pounds for some reason. Weirdly enough I barely ate a thing at Christmas yesterday! So I have no idea what’s going on, as usual.
Anyway, I’ve discovered through recent culinary adventures that soup, [...]

The Perfect Dinner

December 22, 2008

So… the other day, I made my boyfriend and myself a healthy meal that was surprisingly filling, given the low calorie content. I began us each off with about a cup of roasted red-pepper and tomato soup (100 calories). Then we moved onto a small bowl of steamed veggies each (45 calories). [...]

Monday Update – Back On Track!

December 1, 2008

Boy did I get off track over the holiday weekend. The scale is showing a 1-pound gain (from the 13 total lost) but I don’t know if it’s just water or actual fat. I’m leaning towards the former since I did have quite a bit of salt last night.
So to get back on [...]

Wednesday Night Update

November 6, 2008

It’s 2am and I should be in bed but… I had company over pretty much all evening – we watched the storm from my 9th floor balcony, it was pretty amazing! We had some severe thunderstorms roll in this evening.
Calorie-wise today I didn’t eat much at all – it only totals up to about [...]
