Sunday Update

in Miscellaneous, Updates

So the past day or so, I have eaten some things other than raw fruit and veggies/salad… yesterday I splurged and had a grilled cheese, chocolate cake and a couple of glasses of wine for dinner. (Yikes!!) Today I am hoping to get back on the fruitarian track though.

Speaking of fruit, there IS a lot of fruit around this area, although surprisingly not as good of fruit as I thought. As a matter of fact, I went to the “famous” Farmer’s Market at The Grove in Hollywood yesterday, and most of the fruit wasn’t local! It had been shipped in from other countries! What’s the point of a Farmer’s Market if it isn’t local?! How ridiculous! I bought some bananas, a couple of plums, some local strawberries (the only local fruit was berries!), some mini pears and some bottled ‘fresh-squeezed’ orange juice that tasted suspiciously like Sunny Delight. (I will be peeved if I find out it was Sunny D since I wouldn’t knowingly touch that stuff with a ten-foot pole!)

The LA Whole Foods I went to on Friday evening (the one where lots of celebs are spotted) didn’t have some of the fruit I usually find in my Tulsa Whole Foods. But the store was bigger and had a LOT more gourmet raw food.

My current hotel at Universal doesn’t have a fridge. However, tomorrow (Monday) I’ll be switching over to a “residence” type of hotel in the La Mirada/Buena Park area of Cali that has a full kitchen, which will be good. I’ll miss being in the Hollywood area though – it’s really fun and exciting here. But next week I will be spending lots of time with my older sister and family out in the OC/LA county area. I will come to this area a couple more times before leaving Cali though to hang out with P. It’s only a 30-minute drive (well, without traffic) to get here.

So anyway, I’ve been getting LOTS of walking exercise in. Yesterday I spent some time on my own driving and walking around Hollywood and Beverly Hills. Today I plan to do some serious walking as well. I’m really getting tan out here too.

Here are some photos I took yesterday of Hollywood Blvd., Wilshire, Sunset, Rodeo Drive and Beverly Hills.
