in Updates

I ended up having some of the potato strips last night after all… I guess I still am not 100% ready for 100% raw! But I’m getting there. The important thing is that I’m on Day 4 of pure vegan and 90% raw. I’m also technically doing 811rv except for the pototoes.

Forget what I said yesterday about the potato strips having a bad type of acid in them – they don’t! I got citrus and ascorbic acid mixed up. (The latter is the bad one, the former is the one in the potato strips).

I didn’t end up eating much of anything yesterday due to what I thought was detox but was probably the usual seasonal throat sickness I get twice a year whenever the weather changes drastically. I’m feeling a little better today but my throat is still a little scratchy. Usually by now I would have lost my voice and been feeling awful.

So it’s no surprise that the scale is at the lower end of my current fluctuation. We’ll see if I break through to a new low tomorrow!

Today I have lots of mango to eat, plus watermelon and grapes.

My new friend M was over for a couple hours last night again, and I have to admit that I have a bit of a crush on him. We’ve kind of been mildly flirting so I think he may feel the same. Not that I want to jump into anything at the moment – I’d rather wait until I’m a bit slimmer and more confident of myself. But this guy is super-hot… smart, interesting, nice and has the BEST body ever. He took his shirt off in my apartment yesterday so that I could see his aura. LOL. (Yes, I still see/read auras, I just rarely talk about it on this blog). He has one of the coolest auras I’ve seen yet – indigo, which is a bluish violet. My own aura has been mostly fluorescent white-yellow with occasional light blue or green.

I wish it wasn’t so darn hot… I am dying to take a walk around the river! I guess I’ll have to use my elliptical again. My sister and I are going to buy swimsuits so we can go swimming in the Olympic-sized pool downstairs.

OMG!!!!!! You can see and read auras? That’s sooooo cool. I wish you would talk more about that in this blog. What does the indigo mean? Rian, that is awesome. I want to hear more about it. Please please please talk more about it.

*gasp* ascorbic acid is vitamin c and super essential and to prevent scurvy!! Don’t cut that out. How is it bad?

Well done anyhow for sticking to ur food plan. I couldn’t even last on hearty salad lunches wo cravings after two weeks. I guess huge variations rock my boat.

Hahaha, nice to know u gotta crush!

Keeeeep going. U will get there

Because of you, I am doing the Raw diet. Thanks for inspiring me :)

Hi, I really like your blog. Just wanted to point out that neither citric or ascorbic acid is “bad” for you. Ascorbic acid is actually Vitamin C, and like citric acide, is found in many fruits and vegetables.

Sweetie, he took his shirt off. Don’t wait. ;)

Hi again :)
I think not rushing into 100% 811RV is definitely the best decision for people new to raw veganism (and veganism in general). It is a very challenging diet! I have a suggestion though… switching to potato strips for organic sweet potato strips (you can probably get some without additives) may help. Regular white potatoes ar every starchy (cooked starch is hard to digest), and very high-glycemic. They cause an instant insulin rush, and can lead to that feeling of sugar “highs” and lows”, which prompt further food cravings. In the winter, when I need something cooked, I always feel satisfied (not stuffed or heavy) from sweet potatoes and steamed veggies with organic marinara.
I’m so jealous of the watermelon! I just finished my own stock and NEED to find more haha

Chloe & Amanda, manufactured ascorbic acid is very acidic for the body. There are better forms of Vitamin C – like from fruit and veggies. :-) I like to follow the acid/alkaline plan. The more acidic your body is, the more likely you are to get sick.

ste.ded., :-)

Lila, almost anyone can see auras! All you have to do is stare at someone for a full minute or two without moving your eyes. Try it in the bathroom mirror – stare at the middle of your forehead for a full minute or two. Eventually you will see a glow around your body, then it will turn into a color. You can see aura info here: http://www.reiki-for-holistic-health.com/auracolormeanings.html The more you experiment and look at your aura or someone else’s, the more you will be able to see them very easily.

I usually have a bright white aura, but occasionally I’ll see yellow, green or turquoise, depending on my mood, state of health or what activity I was just doing.

Ashleyy: That is AWESOME!! I will check out your blog to see how it’s going for you!

lol, oh i see. so u were talking about the purified vitamin c!

cos i was gonna say pineapple prolly has that. i wondered cos i didnt see u mention eating oranges and stuff like that. i guess that’s part of the acid/alkali plan. watermelon definitely not and because well, a friend back in my school days tried testing the fruit and he made a huge mess of the lab.

Are you sure that’s why he took his short off? LOL

i wish i have not read about how you can read aura and that reiki site. i am very skeptical when it comes to esoteric things and believe that people are a bit stupid to fall into that trend. what you see is not an aura, it’s ligt being broken by your hair/skin/clothes/bathroom floor tiles colors. sorry.

Ali: Haha. Probably not, he had his shirt off yesterday once again showing me some yoga poses. :)

Kristenc: That’s OK, you don’t have to agree with reading auras! If you don’t believe in it, don’t do it. :)
