My New Plan

Ok so I finally got on the scale this morning and it wasn’t pretty… I am back up a couple of pounds for some reason. Weirdly enough I barely ate a thing at Christmas yesterday! So I have no idea what’s going on, as usual.

Anyway, I’ve discovered through recent culinary adventures that soup, meat and veggies really tend to fill me up. So from now on, those will be the main staples of my diet. I’ve put together a plan that goes something like this:

1st meal: Either brown rice & berries or plain oatmeal & berries
2nd meal: Thick veggies soup – either butternut squash, broccoli or red pepper/tomato, plus a piece of fruit
3rd meal: grilled fish (shrimp, salmon or scallops) & veggies & some salad
4th meal: chicken or egg whites, veggies, piece of cheddar, piece of fruit if I’m hungry
Snacks if needed: small handful of raw sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds
Lots and lots of water (to make up for the extra sodium I’ll be ingesting)

The 4th meal and snacks are optional and will only be eaten if I am hungry enough.

Anyway, I’ve begun this plan today already. It’s pretty much a low carb plan with the only real carb meal being the first one of the day. We’ll see how it goes…! Thankfully I enjoy most of the foods on this plan. There will be a little increased sodium from the soup, but I will offset it with extra water.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas!

In other news I am having major sinus/throat problems again. My boyfriend is too. Taking Claritin helps a bit, so likely it’s some sort of allergy. Who knows? Who cares at this point? I guess it’s just going to be something I am going to have to live with until it decides to go away.

I used to have persistent throat problems until I cut sugar out of my diet. Not saying that this is your case, but I also had blood sugar spikes like you say you do (did)…..So may be your case too. I think it is that pancreas or something to that effect.
If you make a butternut squash or pumpkin soup from scratch, when you puree (blend) it, if you add a little bit of walnuts it makes it even more delicious and filling…..

I’ve just started my tomato soup diet.Today is my third day. I cook my own and it’s very easy. Crossed tomatoes in can plus some flour, water and broth, it’s ready in 15 min.

If I were you I would cut down the rice. “brown rice” is a new commercial product. The factories don’t process the rice as much as the white rice so it becomes cheaper for them, then you read in some magazines and ads that brown rice is healthier because of bla bla bla. Rice is still rice. It’s still carb.

Hey choco, I eat a pretty small portion of the rice when I do eat it. I get the organic kind from Whole Foods.
