The Scale

The scale truly baffles me.

Truly.

Truly.

Grrr… I know I’m building muscle like crazy right now and all, but I’d really like that damn number to go down.

I mean, seriously.

I guess it’s time to cut back a little. Today I’ve already cut back without really meaning to and will end up consuming around 1300 calories once I’ve had dinner (which is currently in the oven and will be ready soon).

Damn scale, move it! $@$^%$?!

:-)

Later update:

Well, I finished dinner about 40 minutes ago. I want to take a walk along the river for additional exercise (already did 30 minutes of vigorous elliptical and 10 minutes of yoga earlier) but it’s still 101 degrees with a heat index of 104. No thanks…

it takes time to build muscle and lose weight… stick with one plan and STICK WITH IT. No excuses, just friggin’ do it rian.

Rian, don’t worry about the weight loss please. Muscle is much heavier than fat. And alcohol slows down metabolism. My boyfriend had the same thing. He started exercising a lot, and eating healthy, and took him a long time to actually start losing weight. But now, 6 months later and 25 lbs lighter AND with the nice new muscles it was all worth it (for him). Different people lose pounds at different pace. I can lose 10 lbs in 2 weeks just by being stressed out (and eating the same), but building muscle for me is a pain… Everyone’s bodies are different. You are doing great. You’ll see - it will be all worth it in a few months!

I think it’s great to see anyone invest time and energy into health and take pride in their body, so hats off to you. I would, however, caution against frustration at not seeing immediate results– they are never permanent. Live & eat well, and your body will follow ; ).

Why aren’t you posting my message???

Um, because you were rude in it? I’d appreciate it if you stopped telling me to “stop making excuses”. I am not making excuses for anything. You have said it in many comments and to be quite honest, I’m tired of reading it.

Megan, I have blocked you from ever commenting again on this website. So please give it up and go bother someone else. Don’t bother commenting, it will not come through and I won’t see it. Thanks. :)
