Whew, it’s been a crazy busy week! The good news is that I have been so physically active the past few days that I’m sure I’ve lost some weight. Running up and down the stairs 10+ times per day with your arms loaded with stuff is GREAT exercise, as is carrying boxes, etc. I’ve also been doing a lot more walking and working out at the gym when time permits.
It feels really good to be so active and I am going to continue it. Once I’m done with the packing and cleaning of my old apartment, I’m going to establish a one-hour- per day workout regimen for 5-7 days a week. That seriously seems to be the only way I’ll ever truly slim down. I must have the metabolism of a little old lady. I don’t understand it at all… I see other people stuffing their faces and eating junk and they stay slim or stay at their current weight. Me? I start eating junk and immediately start gaining again. It’s pathetic.
I’m actually looking forward to getting back to Tulsa. I probably won’t be able to leave New Hampshire until Friday of this coming week though. Too much to do.
My day with B at the bar yesterday went OK but honestly could have been better. I find the place beyond depressing now! Bars are so empty and meaningless unless you are downing drinks. My apartment out here is also so depressing that I am staying at a hotel. Long story I won’t get into. Suffice it is to say I was reminded of my life from earlier this year when I was drinking alcohol every single day.

So, I’m back in New Hampshire!
I figured out why that breakfast I had in Eureka MO was so disgusting and salty-tasting…
I have lost my taste for highly processed foods. My taste buds now demand that I eat fresh, organic foods. I know this because I ended up having a couple of “bad” things on the road yesterday – a Jr. Whopper with cheese at Burger King, and a chicken wrap from McDonald’s. (I know, I know, awful, but I just gave in). Both meals were absolutely disgusting! They were salty and just tasted horrible. And I used to like those things before going fresh/organic.
So my taste buds have definitely changed for the better!
Anyway, I bought about a week’s worth of organic fresh food yesterday when I got home. I’m planning on going to Trader Joe’s later for some fruit.
I also double-checked that my gym membership was still active. It was. The woman behind the counter said I hadn’t been there in 128 days! Wow. That sounds about right since I’ve been gone since late March.
So I’m going to work out every single day that I’m here in some way. I’m also planning on taking walks in that beautiful park that I got tons of foliage pictures in last year, plus do my stationary bike.
So, B (my old drinking buddy) wants to hang out and go play pool. My longtime readers will remember that him and I used to play pool every Tuesday and Saturday. We got drunk together many times. Anyway, I may go shoot a game with him this Saturday, but I will not drink.
I haven’t yet gotten on the scale… I forgot to get on this morning before I ate. I’ll have to wait until tomorrow!

About 30 miles west of Syracuse, NY
Tonight is my last night on the road (until my return trip, that is). I’m in Syracuse NY tonight instead of my previously planned Buffalo. Tomorrow I literally only have a five hour drive. I want to get home to my Nashua apartment early in the afternoon because it’s going to be a mess. Some of you may remember that I posted about my last night/day there – I was severely hungover from doing shots of flavored vodka and rum with B. So I can’t recall the exact way I left the apartment, only that it’s not going to be nearly as clean and orderly as my Tulsa one. Gulp. I’ll also have to do grocery shopping and laundry.
I’m hoping my internet connection will be working this time! I’ve been paying the bill, but they’ve had tons of storms out there this summer while I was gone. Who knows if something is broken again like last time. If it is, I will hit a bookstore for an internet connection.
Onto food… I am bummed because I ate some sugary crap today on the road. Just a little bit, but as far as I’m concerned it’s too much. However, overall I ate very little on the road today yet again, so I ordered a delicious room service meal that I am waiting for at this very moment – grilled chicken, a potato, and garden salad.
The good news is that I will be able to use my gym membership the entire 2 weeks I’m in NH. I plan to go every single day! And I still have my stationary bike out there to use. I’ll have to get a few good workouts in on it since I’m leaving it behind.
OK, enough rambling…

Woman cannot subsist on nuts and seeds alone, so I was forced to seek out other alternatives on the road today.
So I began looking for healthy – organic if possible – fresh food. Whole wheat stuff, brown rice, good fruit, etc.
I couldn’t find any.

I had the most delicious steak dinner last night… it was the best meal I’ve had in ages! And yes, I ate the baked potato that came with it and the veggies. I don’t think it was a diet-wrecker because I had barely eaten anything during the day.
This morning I started my day with a bad room service meal – poached egg, 1 1/2 sausage links and wilted fruit that I only had a little of. I added some pumpkin seeds to the meal to even it out. I’m also drinking a vitamin C drink, since I’ve been coughing since last night. Lots of people I know back in Tulsa are sick, I really hope that I don’t catch it!
Anyway, I’ll update more later. I am stopping in Columbus, OH tonight.

Those are, from left to right, cashews, peanuts, raw organic pumpkin seeds, and raw organic sunflower seeds.
Delicious and healthy! These ought to keep my blood sugar stable and help me avoid all of the tempting fast food on the road.
Anyway, I am leaving shortly… and am stopping just outside St. Louis MO for the night. Today is the shortest leg of my trip, only about 5 hours. The place I’m staying tonight has room service, so I am going to order a yummy chicken or steak dinner with veggies.
I’ll be updating this blog whenever I can, hopefully daily!
Time to hit the road…

I have been so busy this week with lots of stuff, including getting ready for my trip back to NH. I am leaving tomorrow and will return to NH sometime on Tuesday afternoon.
I haven’t been weighing myself the past few days… I am afraid to. I figure I’ll just hop on my scale in NH and see what I’ve lost.
My appetite has been enormous lately, I”m not sure why because it’s too early for PMS. Who knows? I’ve still been sticking to healthy organic foods for the most part… except for tonight.
I’ll update more later… in the meantime, check out my new road trip blog: RoadTripGal.com. I imported my Summer 2007 road trip blog posts over to that blog and will be updating daily on my road trip!

Well the scale was still the same this morning. That’s OK though. I did a solid workout both yesterday and today.
I’ve noticed that my stomach is flatter now than it has been in probably over a year or two. I think it has something to do with all the nuts and seeds I’ve been eating – the mono-unsaturated fat, which they are now saying helps eliminate belly fat. Back when I ate LOTS of seeds and nuts every day, I had the slimmest belly ever, so they are definitely right!
I can’t believe some companies are still trying to push dairy food as a method to lose stomach fat. I don’t know about anyone else, but anytime I eat yogurt or ice-cream or drink milk, my stomach immediately bloats out and it lasts several hours. Cheese doesn’t do that to me, though.
Anyway, I’m tired today. Had a late night out, met up for a late dinner with a super-cute guy I had a crush on several months ago. I slept in but it didn’t feel like I got enough sleep.

I am actually down an entire pound from yesterday… that’s 2 pounds in 3 days. I honestly think the super-healthy and natural eating is finally catching up with me.
To be honest, I didn’t eat nearly as much yesterday as I should. But what I did eat kept my blood sugar stable.
Today for breakfast I am having organic brown rice, some pumpkin seeds and a tiny bit of fruit. Lunch is going to be soup, and dinner, who knows?

Well I’m one pound down in 2 days… !
Not much else to report here. So here are some random photos…
This was my breakfast yesterday:

That’s Kashi Maple oatmeal, some mixed fruit, and coffee.
I went out and bought a new digital 19 inch widescreen monitor:

Now let’s see if I can get another pound down on the scale by Monday morning!
