Guess what the first words out of my sister’s mouth were?

“OMG you have definitely lost weight!”

And I know she wasn’t lying. She wouldn’t have even mentioned anything had I not looked slimmer.

:-D

I later asked her where she could tell I’ve lost it, and she said everywhere from the shoulders down. (Meaning I still have a fat face, but that’s OK, it’ll eventually go down as well!)

We took a few photos over there, and I have to admit that although I still have a ways to go, I have DEFINITELY slimmed down even more in the past few months.

What a great motivation to lose even more!

I’m very happy right now. PMS is hitting with a venegeance this month (Maalox has become my best friend again) but I’m in a good mood regardless. Today I did two mini-workouts on my elliptical machine. My sister and niece are coming over in about an hour and we are going to take a walk along the Arkansas River (which I live walking distance too that has over 10 miles of bike/walking paths along). We also went to Sport’s Authority and I bought some 10 pound barbells and one of those “perfect push-up” things.

It is beautiful out here right now - in the high 60’s, which is actually a bit warm for me. Tomorrow should be nearly 80. I’m really going to be miserable until I acclimate to the warm weather again… for the past few months, I have been comfortable with 30 and 40 degrees. This 60, 70 and 80 business is much too warm for my liking right now….!

I’m Home

Man am I ever glad to be home!

Tulsa is green already, flowers are blooming, it’s warm and my family is excited to see me.

Anyway, I am sooooooooo hungry right now. Due to my hectic day, I haven’t eaten anything since 10am this morning! I’m about to head to the grocery store to stock up on food… I’ll probably buy everything in sight since I’m so hungry.

Tomorrow, my healthy eating and exercising will resume. My elliptical machine is beckoning to me… so is the downstairs gym.

I’m going to go visit my sister and niece later tonight, and I’m curious to see if my sister mentions anything about further weight loss. I’ll update and let you all know… (I’m not going to ask her, I’m going to see if she says anything. And trust me, if I’ve lost anything, she will mention it).

Day Three On The Road

April 3rd, 2008 by Rian | No Comments | Filed in Miscellaneous

Tonight I am in Missouri- just outside of St. Louis, in fact. I would have continued driving and reached Tulsa late tonight, but there were some bad storms - possible tornadoes - predicted for my route (I-44), something I have no desire to drive in.

Judging by the radar and current weather along I-44, I made the right decision. I love storms so long as I’m indoors… or on a covered balcony getting pictures. But out walking or driving in it? NO.

I’m tired and burned out, so this post will be short. I’ll be back to regular updates tomorrow evening or Saturday. But for now, I’m doing OK. I’ve just been feeling really crappy physically since the day I left. I’ve mostly had a very upset stomach and have had trouble sleeping despite being really tired. Not sure what is going on, but I’m looking forward to getting home and back to a routine!

Day One On The Road

Well, today mostly sucked. Hardcore. As mentioned in my last post, I woke up with a raging hangover. Yes, the last few days I drank WAY too much. Old habits die hard I guess… (or whatever that saying is).

Oh well, I definitely got it out of my system!

So…. the only good part about today is that I got to see my super-cute mechanic. He’s the one who serviced my car, in fact. Sigh… I really really really like him. The front desk guy (who ALWAYS checks me out from head to toe, repeatedly), was teasing me about being hungover. I was wearing dark sunglasses and the whole nine yards when I finally managed to make it down there at 10:30am. I actually had an appointment at 8am, but I called to push it back because I was sick. The guys down there are SO super sweet, they didn’t even charge me for the few things they did to my car!

So, B came over and helped me carry my very-heavy computer down to my car. (I have a high-tech computer with a 650 gig hard drive, and it’s heavy.) He also carried my heaviest suitcase down. What a sweetheart. (Well, I paid for his cab fare home and treated him to lunch).

I finally managed to make it out of NH around 3:30pm. MUCH later than I intended. The weather forecast, which I checked many times before leaving, said nothing about high winds and thunderstorms. So imagine my displeasure at running into both in upstate New York. The latter only last 30 minutes or so, but it was long enough as far as I’m concerned. (I love thunderstorms so long as I’m not driving). The high winds lasted most of the trip and was an extreme annoyance. It also poured rain on and off the entire trip.

Not to mention that I was feeling awful pretty much all day and evening.

OK, I’ve committed myself to be honest in this blog, so I’m going to do that now. For the past few days, I’ve blown my diet. I’ve been drinking a lot of alcohol and barely eating. When I do eat, it hasn’t been good stuff. I’d say that the last several days (maybe 4 or so) have been bad eating-wise. I worked out as usual except for the past 2 days, although today I got quite the workout carrying stuff up and down the stairs. (It was definitely a good workout because I worked up a sweat and all!) Tomorrow night I’ll be staying in a super-nice hotel that has a workout room. I plan to utilize it. I have workout clothes with me and everything. I’m not drinking tonight or anytime soon so no more hangovers.

I discovered yesterday and today that my body is definitely shrinking. I’m noticing it in more places now…

Well, it’s after midnight and I’m exhausted. I’ll update again tomorrow night when I reach Indianapolis. Damn the maid for leaving a packet of oreo cookies in my room here! That’s it, I’m throwing them away before I get tempted… :)

Sick

Ugh I am SOOOOOOOOOO sick this morning. B was over last night and we were doing shots of both rum and vodka.

I should mention that one reason I’m so sick is because I was drinking on an empty stomach. I barely had anything to eat yesterday.

That was stupid of me, yes.

Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I have to run down to Midas to get my car checked… thankfully the guys down there are cool and don’t mind that I’m two hours late!
