Some Older Pictures Of Me

March 22nd, 2008 by Rian | Filed under Updates.

Here I was, going through one of my older computers (grabbing files and stuff I need to transfer to my new laptop) and I came across some old pictures of me that show me at different weights. I’ve decided to post them along with the weight that I was at the time.

And please, no “OMG you are soooo ugly and fat” comments. I’ve heard ‘em all already. ;-)

Please note a lot of these are blurry because they were taken with one of my older cell phones, which took AWFUL pics. Also, these are in chronological order.

Me, around 130 pounds, 2001, no muscle (didn’t work out):

Me, 135ish, 2004 (no muscle or working out):

Me, Spring 2006, when I had gotten up to around 157 (Yikes!):

Me, August 2006, 135 (after riding my bike all summer):

Me, Fall 2006 right before gaining weight, prob around 140ish:

(I was taking picture of my new hair color, which explains the weird pose).

Me, 155ish pounds, Dec 2006 (A month or two after I first started gaining, a little buzzed after a couple drinks):

Too bad there are no pictures of me from 2005…. I had gotten in very good shape that summer. That’s also the year I started theskinnywebsite.com.

So how do I compare now to these older pictures? Well, I definitely look smaller now than I did in my 157-pound picture above… but not as small as my 135 and 140 pics.

I will eventually be taking more pics of my progress and will post them here.

You carry your weight very well. I think you look average at your highest weight so don’t fret mah dear, I’m sure your are looking quite spiffy now.

Thanks for posting pictures - I love having a face to put with your blog.

I like your hair brown - is it still that color?

You guys are too kind. Yes, my hair is dyed a dark red brown. (My natural hair color is in the top two pictures, the blondish/brown dishwater color that goes either light or dark in pictures, depending on what kind of lighting I’m in).

I think you look great!! You do carry your weight well and you are in proportion no matter what weight you are.

My friends think it’s strange that I know exactly what I’ve weighed at every stage or year of my life. I know what I weighed at every holiday I’ve ever taken, every xmas, every birthday….and I’ve never written it down, it’s all stored in my mind.

Pretty sad really…. why cant we just get over it and start living without constantly thinking weight???

I think you look physically fit in the picture after cycling all summer. It seems you would look fine at 125-130#. In fact, even 135# looks good!

bec, I totally understand and I’m the same way! I must say though although I’ve always been conscious of my weight, I’ve always “lived my life”. No matter what I weigh, I still have fun. There seems to be a misconception that people on diets are miserable don’t have fun. However, it’s not really true! Sure, we have to pass on the cake and ice-cream, but who really cares? :)

I just discovered your blog, but am a big fan of your other websites, chicklitbooks and theskinnywebsite. I check the latter just about every day! You have a great business sense. Do you have a website or blog that relates to your sweet entrepreneur skills?

Also, I have to agree with the other girls about your looks. Your dark hair looks awesome with your fair skin. Good luck with your dieting, but I think you look great just the way you are. :)

The person above me mentioned chicklitbooks, what books have you written?

  9. Rian | 29/03/08

NotDieting, thanks! I used to have an entrepreneur blog actually but took it down. (Had some people copying my ideas).

Geo21, I haven’t written any books. I’ve just written a ton of of book reviews in the last few years. Chicklitbooks.com was the first site promoting chick lit as a genre.

I can’t stand dieting because it’s emotionally exhausting and can lead to binge eating. It can also make you feel more organised and in control though.

Have people seriously come online and called you ugly or fat? That’s so low - you’re neither of those things, u look like a normal healthy girl.

I am in love with your “Skinny Celeb” site! Funny, I never noticed the “links” page, but I’m glad I did. I think you’re lovely. You have a really athletic, symmetrical build, which so many people covet.

Good luck with all of your goals, physical and otherwise.

You are beautiful. Very nicely proportioned, which is what “counts”
