Well, I finally managed to get home and get myself on a scale this morning!
And, I discovered that I only gained back 3 pounds in the last month. And since I was on vacation, I was eating a lot of unhealthy food, like Mexican food, desserts, fast food, etc.
I lost 11 pounds on the Kimkins diet last month – started at 172, ended at 161. I now weigh 164. I think the reason I only gained the 3 back is because I wasn’t overeating at all. In fact, I ate small meals and skipped a few on my road trip even.
These three pounds will be extremely easy to lose again… and then some. I’m officially back on Kimkins as of this morning!
I have exactly two months until I turn 30 years old.
Thirty! 3 – 0!!
Arghghghggh!
I will be going back on my own version of a Kimkins diet starting this coming Monday. I still don’t know what I weigh, but whatever it is, it’s still way too much.
My goal: 25 pounds in two months. Can I do it?
Despite falling off the Kimkins wagon, I must admit that I haven’t really gone back to my original bad eating habits. I suspect that I have gained a few pounds back, but not all of them. I will weigh myself when I get home to ascertain the damage.
Although I am staying in a hotel that has a little kitchenette and stove/fridge, I have been eating out a lot. It seems every day that I go out to lunch or dinner with family and friends, and they always want to eat Mexican food (which I also love and rarely eat back home) or other fattening food. But I don’t really eat a lot. One major thing that the Kimkins diet did for me is help me learn portion control. For the first week or so off the diet, I couldn’t eat a regular sized meal because my stomach was so shrunken. Now, I still don’t eat nearly as much as I used to.
The frustrating thing is that I should still be losing weight, because of the fact that I’m not overeating and am getting plenty of exercise. But I know I am not losing right now. It’s driving me nuts. It’s also TOM right now and I’ve had a terrible headache every day this week.
Being a woman seriously sucks sometimes.
I will be leaving California this Sunday and heading home, but making a couple of stops along the way. I plan to get back to my diet as soon as I get home. There is no point in trying to do it before then. I’m also taking advantage of the delicious and wide variety of fruit that is out here.
Hey everyone, I’m sorry for being out of commission for so long. I have been on vacation (out of state) for the past couple of weeks. After revealing that, I am sure that many of you know who I am… which is fine.
I lost a total of 11 pounds on the Kimkins diet before leaving on my vacation. I lost that weight in 11 days. Overall, I felt pretty good physically while doing the diet and my chronic fatigued feeling completely left. However, I left on June 30th for a cross-country road trip. I had known that it would be difficult to stay eating only lean meat, eggs and veggies while on my road trip, but I didn’t quite realize HOW hard.
Let me tell you now that it is pretty much impossible. I love the feeling I get while in Ketosis – I can’t really explain the feeling, you will have to wait until you get in it yourself – but it doesn’t translate well to mountain and long driving. While at home, I have no problems. But being on the road for about 9 hours a day and changing altitudes constantly, I felt nauseated and light-headed. I got up about 2200 feet and started feeling really crappy. After I drank a V8 juice blend thing, I felt a lot better, but that just started me on the path to completely abandoning a low carb diet.
And abandon it I did…
