Day 7 Challenging (But Successful)
June 21st, 2007 by Rian | Filed under Miscellaneous.Today was challenging to say the least. It started off fine - I jumped out of bed feeling great and energetic. Had a lean pork patty and a hard-boiled egg for breakfast, mahi mahi for lunch with a tomato and some salad, and then went to dinner with my old coworkers. Now, these coworkers were from one of the best jobs I ever had - an environmental company that I worked for in 2004. So it was a nice, interesting group of people. (Scientists and Engineers are really some of the quirkiest people!) I ordered garlic salmon (more fish!?) and broccoli. (I didn’t touch the broccoli though). I ate less than half of the salmon and a few bites of salad. I just had no appetite.
I just totaled up my calories and discovered I have only eaten 850 calories today. It’s a little low - I generally don’t believe that extreme low calorie diets are healthy, but I can’t find the desire to really eat anything else. I’m also feeling a little tired and blahhh right now. I did do my vitamin shake when I got home tonight but it doesn’t seem to be doing much. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll feel better.
The challenges I had to get through today with my diet were: the free red wine that was offered by the server at the restaurant; (I turned it down); the yummy scrumptious-looking breadsticks that were passed around. Thankfully the group of people I was with are intelligent adults who didn’t ask me once why I wasn’t drinking alcohol.
So…… 7 days on my low carb diet; another completely sober day. What a weird week it’s been. Oh, and the scale registered another pound lost this morning.

YOU ARE DOING SO great. i was looking forward to reading your blog today. because i know you are on a good path
xo
good for you! I am looking forward to seeing you cross of another weight goal soon, I’m sure you are too
Just wanted to say I’m on day three of my low carb diet.I have about 80 pounds to lose to be at my weight that I was before having my son.Low carb has been the only thing that has worked fast in the past.I check your website every night ,it really helps me keep going. It’s very hard to stick with because I have been pretty much addicted to carbs. It really must be equivalent to going through a drug withdrawl!LOL
It sounds like you’re doing great - but eating only 850 calories and working out alot could be what’s making you feel blah. It sounds like you’re doing a great job of not snacking, but a few high protein snacks, like string cheese or a handful of almonds, might bring your energy level up. And LOTS of water - all that protein takes extra water to metabolize.
Hi there! Well done! I am also on a low carb plan similar to yours. I am looking forward to seeing the pics. Keep up the good work!!!
