No Wonder I Am Overweight!

April 20th, 2007 by Rian | Filed under Miscellaneous.

So, I had a 360-calorie breakfast, am eating a 310-calorie lunch, and have two more meals planned out for my 2nd midday meal and dinner. My 2nd midday meal is going to be 450 calories and my dinner, 380. That equals out to 1500 calories. (I am doing a four or five meal per day plan and counting every calorie I put into my mouth, liquid or solid). 1500 may seem like too many for some of you, but as I discovered today… I’ve been eating WAY more than that, so I will begin to lose weight regardless. After a few days, I’ll drop down to 1300 or so. Plus, I’m planning to be very active for the next several days, as the weather here is FINALLY nice.

And let me just say… no wonder I am overweight! As a matter of fact, I am surprised that I have not hit obesity. After adding up the calories and foods and figuring out the calories for the portions I’ll be eating… I realized how much I have truly been eating for the past couple of months. And it is a LOT. When I saw how small the portions are for these 300-450 cal meals, I realized that I’ve probably been eating around 2500-3000 calories per day!

I did the exercise bike last night for 15 minutes. Today, I already have done a fair amount of walking and plan to do another mile or two by the end of the day.

Well i wasn’t surprised when i saw your weight b/c the thing is u think that you are eating 5 meals a day and not 3 BIG meals but in these meals still if u eat Heavy it wont make any difference .. i was really surprised like how ppl eat so much in the breakfast and 4-5 things and like 400 cal bfast…. wow ..let me tell you how i do mine ..i just drink one cup hot chocolate with one slice or 2 maybe grilled with some butter or plain … or eat 2 toast with some omlette or some fruit yogurt .. i mean it shouldn’t be more then 200 -250 cal .

Well the good thing is you realize your mistake and now you can control .. also u have to do more then bike you have to do some strength exercises too for changing your body over all…

    wish you good luck .:)

Oh my gosh… I’m in like exactly the same situation… except I’m and inch taller than you… so I feel your pain. I started trying to do South Beach last Monday and lost five pounds…. then last night I cheated horribly. I need to get my butt on the treadmill bad!

South Beach is really healthy! I did a modified version of it myself a couple years ago and it worked wonders and also gave me a ton of energy. I wish you luck in getting re-motivated! :)

Thanks Tahira- you are right. One of the reasons I’ve also gained is from not exercising for several months. But I’m back to taking extended power walks, now that the weather is better, plus the bike, plus I’ll soon get my regular bicycle out of storage and ride it.
